Scherenschnitte is an ancient art craft, also known as German Paper Cutting. In ancient times men would present a hand crafted leibsbrief (love note) to their sweetheart. Using scissors or sharp knives, images and silhouettes would be carved into a lace-like design on paper. Certificates for marriages and baptisms were popular. Explore your roots and creativity by learning this nearly lost art. You need to bring an exacto knife and cutting mat OR cardboard to class. Paper and patterns will be provided.
